History
Selinus is known as the place where Roman Emperor Trajan died in AD 117, and for this reason was also called "Trajanopolis" for a time.
Remains
Walls, an agora, baths and the "Şekerhane" structure — used as a hunting lodge in the Seljuk period — survive at the site.
