Trebenna Ancient City

History

Trebenna is an ancient city about 32 km west of Antalya, on the northern slope of Sivridağ, at an elevation of 700 meters above the sea. It came under Ptolemaic rule in 281-280 BC and gained the right to mint its own coinage under Emperor Gordian III in the 3rd century AD.

Protected Status

The city remained a Byzantine settlement until the Turkish conquest (around the 13th century AD) and was declared a "Natural Protected Site" in 2019.
