Kaleiçi

History

Kaleiçi is Antalya's historic old town, encircled by walls dating from the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods, with a history spanning more than two thousand years. Its narrow streets and traditional houses preserve the city's historic identity to this day.

Layout

The district houses separate landmarks such as Yivli Minare, Hadrian's Gate, the Clock Tower and Hıdırlık Tower — Kaleiçi itself should be understood as the historic fabric/neighborhood containing these monuments.

Visitor Information

• Location: Muratpaşa / Antalya, around the marina
• Explored on foot through its narrow streets; restored mansions and boutique hotels are also found here
